Diaspora voters based in Nairobi have found themselves at a hard place after reports emerged that there is a serious shortage of transport services ahead of the polls. Current news has learned that most of the buses intended to transport the voters to their respective counties have been booked full. The situation has also not been helped by the fact that hundreds of commuters had already traveled to their rural homes days earlier, rendering the city short of buses.Earlier on, there were reports that Nairobi residents were packing and leaving the city in fear of potential unrest after the August 8 polls. According to the latest opinion polls, the exit of Nairobians from the capital would hurt the NASA’s flagbearer’s cause the most as he enjoys significantly higher support in Nairobi than his counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta.However, in an ironic twist of fate, the commuters who intend to leave the city to vote in their respective tallying centres now suffer an acute shortage of buses.
