The Killers of IEBC ICT manager Chris Msando will never live in peace after they were cursed by his widow Eva Buyu during a requiem mass held in Nairobi.
While eulogizing her slain husband as a loving man during the service at Consolata Shrine on Thursday, August 17, she said that God will avenge for the family. “Are you happy? Because I know you are watching. May you not have peace. And vengeance is of the Lord,” she said.
Msando was killed just days to the August 8 General Election and his mutilated body later found dumped in a thicket in Kikuyu.
Also killed alongside him was a young lady, Maryanne Wairumu was commonly known as Carol Ngumbu. She was buried quietly at her parents' home on Friday, August 11 in Gachie, Kiambu county. Msando will be buried on Saturday, August 19 at his rural home in Lifunga, Ugenya. After reports that he had gone missing, tension rose in the country with leaders from both political divide blaming the other. Conspiracy theories mostly touching on politics with those in Jubilee blaming his death on NASA but the opposition has sustained its blame on the ruling coalition for the killing.
NASA leader Raila Odinga visited Msando’s rural home a day after Kenyans went to the polls and promised to fight for justice for the family.
And during the requiem mass, his widow left nothing to chance as she indicated her husband’s death was political. In her eulogy, she prayed for justice to be done as she invoked the words of the National Anthem that ‘let justice be our shield and defender’. She prayed to God for vengeance as she broke into song saying that only God has the final say. “Long live Christopher Chege Msando...this is our hero,” she said as he ended her eulogy. She said she was at pains to explain to her children what happened to their father. “The children ask why I don’t know what to answer. And that’s the first question I asked Mr. Chebukati when he came,” she told the congregation. An autopsy conducted on his body revealed that he was strangled to death.
