Tanzania's popular singer Prof J's honeymoon cut-short with news his house set to be demolished

-Tanzania artist and MP Professor Jay got married to longtime girlfriend Grace Mgonjo on Saturday, July 8, 2017, in Tanzania 
-The wedding saw top celebrities attend including Lady Jaydee and Diamond who also performed 
-His honeymoon was cut short after receiving news that his house had been built on a road reserve and was marked for demolition.

 Jay started his music career in 1994 when he joined Hard Blasters group.One year later, they won the title of the best hip-hop group in Tanzania. Seven years later, he released a number of solo hits, including “Nikusaidiaje” and “Zali la Mentali (feat Juma Nature). That was the beginning of his career which took him from rags to riches.

  Professor Jay who was elected as the new Member of Parliament for Mikumi Constituency got married to longtime girlfriend Grace Mgonjo during the weekend( July 8) at St Joseph’s church in Dar es Salaam.
The MP and his wife received news that their home had been marked for demolition by the government which prompted them to hurry back home. "It’s true that our house has been marked for demolition but we are petitioning the decision together with our neighbors the Local Government and our Diwani MP. We want to challenge the verdict because their decision to mark our houses which are 121.5 meters from the path for demolition is contrary to the legal procedure. It’s a huge piece of land and many people will be affected but we believe that justice shall be served.” He said in an interview with Clouds FM Tanzania. Professor Jay appealed to the Tanzania government to look into the matter considering he put blood, sweat, and tears to complete the house.

Yet another IEBC official killed, dumped near her home.

- Police are currently investigating the death of an IEBC Presiding Officer who was murdered. - The officer was killed and the body dumped near her home in Ugenya.  - The officer was a teacher. Police are investigating the death of an Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officer who was killed and dumped near her home in Ugenya, Siaya County. - Raila Odinga has decided to go to the Supreme Court to contest President Uhuru Kenyata's win.  - He will meet a full bench of seven Supreme Court judges where he will argue his case.  - The petition is supposed to be heard in 14 days time as stipulated in the Constitution. Raila Odinga will after all go to the Supreme Court to contest President Uhuru Kenyatta's win even after vowing never to take his case there. The court has seven judges who sit in it to listen to cases of high magnitude like a presidential petition among others. The Supreme Court is headed by the Chief Justice who is its president and is mandated by law to hear the petition in 14 days.
