Police are investigating the death of an Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) officer who was killed and dumped near her home in Ugenya, Siaya County. Caroline Odinga's body was found near her home on Saturday, August 19 morning but police have not yet shared any further information about the mysterious death.
TUKO.co.ke has reliably learned that Odinga was a high school teacher in the area. IEBC has not reacted to the death so far but has denied that Siaya's returning officer, Ruth Kulundu, is dead. Earlier reports claimed that her body had been discovered on a farm.
Last week, another official identified as Orenge Nyabicha, is said to have killed himself just hours after overseeing voting in the recently concluded polls.

He apparently suffocated from carbon monoxide emitted from the charcoal and left a note behind indicating he was frustrated by IEBC's inability to deliver the free and credible election.
