The former Meru Governor Peter Munya has joined the National Super Alliance (Nasa) after losing his seat to Kiraitu Murungi of Jubilee party. Mr. Munya said he had joined opposition with  Party of National Unity amid fights over the leadership of the once rule outfit. Mr. Munya said he had decided to shift his allegiance to Jubilee because his election was stolen after the election in August. “I cannot support the same people who stole my votes,” he told reporters at the Capitol Hill, the Nasa headquarters. He vowed to challenge Mr. Murungi’s win at the High Court. Although Mr. Munya did not join the party led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, he said he supported his re-election on August 8 as the leader of PNU.

NASA Candidature, Raila hails James Orengo

To NASA leader Raila Odinga has hipped praise to the lawyers who argued the presidential petition before the Supreme Court judges that nullified the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election. Raila said that the lawyers led by Siaya Senator James Orengo did their work well. The NASA leader observed that Mr. Orengo and his colleagues burned had midnight oil to put the petition together and argue it in the court. He said that the larger NASA family and supporters are proud of the work done by their  lawyers. “I want to recognize and appreciate the work done by our lawyers led by James Orengo and all others who participated in the petition,” he said as quoted by the Standard. Raila dedicated the Supreme Court victory to the NASA supporters, saying that the journey to ‘Canaan’ is  still on. The NASA leader had appealed to supporters and Kenyans to remain calm.
